Jeremy Piper : Indianapolis Colts
I am sure head coach Benjamin O'Neal has something up his sleeve for this game. He is a great offensive mind.

Mary Moore : Indianapolis Colts
They will keep their winstreak going.

Jim Nox : Washington Redskins
You have to think of the roles Jim Kelly - QB and Dennis McKnight - G play on this team. They are the players who make everyone work together as a team. Playing as a unit will ensure the Redskins win these difficult games. This may be one for the ages.

Darren Francis : Indianapolis Colts
They will rely on their defense to pull them through.

Simon Sly is here to bring you another edition of Coach Showdown. This is an interesting week.

LUCIO BASS, OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR, OAKLAND RAIDERS
The Raiders currently sit at 0-2-0.

Lucio Bass wants to be aggressive on offense. Professionalism is the key for him. He demands accountability from everyone around him.
Lucio Bass runs a run first West Coast offense. Fullbacks are not utilized much. Bass likes to go over the top of the defense in the passing game. The passing game is predicated on spreading the ball around to multiple targets. He places a premium on recievers with sure hands.

They are 14th in the league pass completion percentage. They are 26th in the league passing touchdowns with 1. They are 25th in the league passing yards per game. WINFRED MATTSON, OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR, TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
The Buccaneers currently sit at 2-0-0.

Winfred Mattson runs his offense conservatively. Professionalism is the key for him. He demands accountability from everyone around him.
Winfred Mattson runs a pass heavy Spread offense. He wants his running backs to focus on running the ball, limiting their other duties. He runs mostly from power formations. It's about taking what the defense gives you in the passing game, according to Mattson. He prefers to have different types of wide recievers, to have a flexible passing game.

Game of the Week: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at San Francisco 49ers

Our Expert Predictions:

Jeremy Piper : San Francisco 49ers
I think having a leader like Mike Merriweather - LB is the kind of thing that will help the 49ers win this game. This will either be wildly entertaining or a dull grind. I see no middle between the two.

Mary Moore : San Francisco 49ers
I think their offense will carry them. A close win.

Jim Nox : Tampa Bay Buccaneers
I just really like the way they coach in Tampa Bay. Head coach John McKay is doing great things. Offensively he is a great and innovative thinker. Defensively he makes great adjustments. Expect a great game.

Darren Francis : San Francisco 49ers
Looking at the teams, I have no doubt that Mark Lee - CB will run circles around the offense. This is going to be great to watch.

The leadership of Lewis.

it has been visible on the field, the leadership of Albert Lewis - CB on and off the field is getting a lot of attention. Recent interviews with his team mates praise his assertiveness and determination. It is infectious, they say. True leadership is a rare commodity, so obviously the Broncos organization are extremely happy with this development.

Our Expert Predictions:

Jeremy Piper : New England Patriots
I do not think people realize how good this defense is.

Mary Moore : Dallas Cowboys
I do not think people realize how good this offense is.

Jim Nox : New England Patriots
Of course the Patriots win! With team players like Russ Francis - TE and James Lofton - WR who make everyone around them better, how could they not? This may be where we see their true colors.

Darren Francis : New England Patriots
When you think of the players that will be on the field, I am certain that the key is whether they can contain Steve Grogan - QB. If not, he will destroy them.

QB Steve Young (KC) goes #1 overall!

NEW YORK -- The Kansas City Chiefs drafted Steve Young #1 overall in the 1984 draft. The 6' 2" QB fits the team's needs perfectly. Said Chiefs general manager: "It's up to us to develop him and get good players around him."

"The great thing about the game of football is, it's a team game," Young said on a conference call. "I'm just going to be one piece of the puzzle."

Moore and Nox Mock Draft

Pick 1: Kansas City Chiefs
Larry Moore: Steve Young - QB
This kid is not afraid to work hard. I want this kid on my team. He understands his role on the field, and how it fits in with what everyone else is doing. He is driven by the love of the sport. He trusts what he sees, and what he sees is mostly right. Delivers the ball accurately. A howitzer for an arm. He can do what they want. He will deliver results early. He fits a need. End of story.

Jim Nox: Steve Young - QB
This kid puts in the work. The ultimate team player. Respected for his good behavior on the field. He is smart enough to get the ins and outs of the pro game. He has good throwing mechanics. Boy, oh boy, can he throw. Do not be afraid to draft a position of need here. This kid is well worthy of a pick this early. Perfect situation for him, and great fit for the team.

Pick 2: Chicago Bears
Larry Moore: Boomer Esiason - QB
Every team would benefit from his leadership. Known for showing up early and staying late. Here is a kid who will go through fire for his coaches and teammates. Plays with decent intelligence. Will deliver the ball to the target with nice accuracy. Makes good, hard throws. A player that fits their needs. The promise of a future star. This will be great for the franchise.

Jim Nox: Gary Zimmerman - T
Due to his work ethic, this kid is very coachable. This kid never gives up, losing is unacceptable to him. This is a young man who will bench press a Defensive Tackle, and not a small one! This kid is already an excellent blocker in the running game. That is something that draws the attention of coaches. Pass blocking against professional players makes for a difficult transition from college. But the tape indicates he will do well in that regard. Nothing to think about here. Pick up the kid, bring him into the building, put him om the field.

Pick 3: Dallas Cowboys
Larry Moore: Gary Zimmerman - T
This guy understands what it means to be a pro. This kid never gives up, losing is unacceptable to him. Even though this is a youngster right out of college, he is strong like a grown man. The defensive linemen at the pro level are bigger and meaner than those in college. Yet, as far as run blocking goes, this young man should have no trouble transitioning. Protects the QB well on pass plays. You can never have enough good pass blockers. Might not be what fans want, but there is a reason people are getting paid to make these decisions. This is a rock solid pick, and he fits what they are looking for. Fans will come around quickly once they see him play.

Jim Nox: Reggie White - DE
Known for showing up early and staying late. You need to stay on him, or he will turn the edge on you. Teams want Defensive Ends that keep Offensive Tackles honest. He is a well developed tackler, this is something teams look for. It saves a lot of time when the fundamentals are good. If you watch the tape again, you can see he plays with nice instincts. Fits the bill, great quality pick, and fills a soft spot on the roster. They should have no qualms here, run to the podium and get your man.

Pick 4: New York Jets
Larry Moore: Reggie White - DE
This kid is not afraid to work hard. Fast enough to get around slower Offensive Tackles. Wraps up well when tackling. Educated well. Shows good understanding of the game. It is not often that the talent available fits perfectly with what you need. When it does, it makes for a win-win situation. This young man is going to be put in a position to succeed.

Jim Nox: Eric Williams - DE
His college coaches talk highly of his work ethic. Solid tackler. Fits the bill, great quality pick, and fills a soft spot on the roster. They should have no qualms here, run to the podium and get your man.

Pick 5: Atlanta Falcons
Larry Moore: Eugene Daniel - CB
Known among his teammates as a hard worker. This kid never gives up, losing is unacceptable to him. Coaches like his instincts. Are there other guys worth picking here? Sure, but none of them fit this well with what they need, and he is a solid talent.

Jim Nox: Boomer Esiason - QB
His leadership is through the roof. He is on the frontline, always. Known among his teammates as a hard worker. Here is a kid who will go through fire for his coaches and teammates. He does not get fooled by coverages often. He is accurate enough to place the ball where the receiver can make the play. Has good zip on his throws. Once this kid gets in the building, they will be set at this position for years.

Pick 6: Seattle Seahawks
Larry Moore: Eric Williams - DE
Here you have a kid who puts in the work to succeed. Great technique on tackling. Once this kid gets in the building, they will be set at this position for years.

Jim Nox: Eugene Daniel - CB
Here you have a kid who puts in the work to succeed. He wants to win! A really smart kid. Take the blue-chip player. Do not worry about sexier picks. He fits what you need and the quality is there.

Pick 7: Denver Broncos
Larry Moore: Carl Banks - LB
This kid puts in the work. Solid technique on tackles. In college, he dominated when bull rushing. He is strong enough that he can continue to do that in the pros. Nice speed for a Defensive End. Enough to keep contain and get sacks. You need him, just get him already.

Jim Nox: Carl Banks - LB
Here you have a kid who puts in the work to succeed. Tackles well. His physical foundation given him an nice ceiling. Scouts all say his speed is not a problem, he plays way faster than his forty time. Fans might not be on board with what can be framed as a need pick. But trust me once they see this kid play, they will be more than happy.

Pick 8: Indianapolis Colts
Larry Moore: Dean Steinkuhler - T
Teammates gravitate toward him, they follow his lead. Coaches love that about him. Due to his work ethic, this kid is very coachable. This guy sticks with his teammates, through thick and thin. Reacts instinctively to developments on the field. Some might say this is a 'need' pick, but we must remember, this is a really good player as well. He will contribute early and often. No losers here.

Jim Nox: John Alt - T
Due to his work ethic, this kid is very coachable. His love for winning leads him to push himself hard, setting an example for everyone. The muscles on this kid should allow him to hold his own against pro competition. In the run game he blocks well, shows tenacity and opens lanes. This will benefit the team. Plays with intelligence. Fill a need, get a quality player, everyone wins! He will fit right in with the pros.

Pick 9: San Diego Chargers
Larry Moore: Sean Jones - DE
'Team player', this is the correct term for him. He makes everyone around him better. People watching his tape often do not notice his speed. It is not something that jumps out at you, but he is pretty fast. Tackles with nice fundamentals. People usually go down. Do not be afraid to draft a position of need here. This kid is well worthy of a pick this early. Perfect situation for him, and great fit for the team.

Jim Nox: Gary Reasons - LB
This guy understands what it means to be a pro. What you get with this kid, is a guy who understands that this is a team sport. This is the kind of kid you want to promote the game. Well behaved, loves the game, and respectful. Strong enough to come of the edge in the pros. It is not often that the talent available fits perfectly with what you need. When it does, it makes for a win-win situation. This young man is going to be put in a position to succeed.

Pick 10: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Larry Moore: Gary Reasons - LB
Known for showing up early and staying late. This kid breeds synergy, teams play better when he is on the field. Respected for his good behavior on the field. Not the strongest, but strong enough. Can maintain his leverage and shed blocks. They gotta be happy to get this guy. Such a talent and he fits their needs. I would imagine the war room is celebrating when they make this pick.

Jim Nox: Louis Lipps - WR
The guy has his head on straight. Can change direction fluidly. It is not often that the talent available fits perfectly with what you need. When it does, it makes for a win-win situation. This young man is going to be put in a position to succeed.

Coaching Carousel Predictions.

The offseason is upon us and that means teams are shaking up their coaching staffs. This means that we get to take our annual look at coordinators who could make the leap to become head coaches, and the teams who are likely to poach them.

The prime candidates identified by our experts are:
Michael Brown - Offensive Coordinator - New England Patriots
Shane Workman - Defensive Coordinator - San Diego Chargers
Sylvester Gilbert - Offensive Coordinator - Houston Oilers
Bill Arnsparger - Defensive Coordinator - Miami Dolphins
Tim Scribner - Defensive Coordinator - Buffalo Bills
Fred Harmon - Offensive Coordinator - Pittsburgh Steelers

As always, we are prone to wild speculations, so we asked our in-house experts to do a little matchmaking between candidates and teams. Here is what they came up with:

Mary Moore:
Michael Brown leaves the Patriots to become the head coach for the Cleveland Browns.

Darren Francis:
I think the Dolphins lose Bill Arnsparger and I see him heading to New York Jets.

Jim Nox:
The Dolphins cannot hold on to Bill Arnsparger. I would like to see him coach the Kansas City Chiefs.

Jeremy Piper:
Bill Arnsparger is certainly on the move. That means Dolphins will need a new coordinator. As for where Arnsparger ends up? Well, I think New York Jets is a good bet.
